These first images say a little more about the plot and the stakes of the feature film, which will therefore take place in the heart of ancient China.
Asterix (Guillaume Canet) and Obelix (Gilles Lellouche) are on a mission to save the Empress's only daughter, Princess Fu Yi (Julie Chen), imprisoned following a coup d'etat ordered by a prince. named Deng Tsin Quin (Bun Hay Mean).
The two acolytes are helped in this adventure by Graindemaïs (Jonathan Cohen), a Phoenician merchant who passes himself off as Gaul and his faithful warrior Tat Han (Leanna Chea), with whom Obélix will fall in love.
But Julius Caesar (Vincent Cassel) could well disrupt their plans since he will try to become the new emperor of China.

This long-awaited new part of the franchise is therefore directed by Guillaume Canet, who succeeds Laurent Tirard, director in 2012 of

, who unfortunately did not convince the critics.

Note that for the first time on screen Obélix is played by another actor than Gérard Depardieu: Gilles Lellouche seems rather comfortable in this new costume.
