Mexico: 29 dead during blitz to arrest son Chapo

(ANSA) - MEXICO CITY, 06 JAN - The balance of the clashes after the arrest of El Chapo's son in Mexico is very heavy.

The number of dead during the operation to arrest Ovidio Guzmán-López has risen to 29, the government said.

    Ten soldiers and 19 criminal suspects were killed in the operation to arrest Ovidio Guzman, son of jailed drug trafficker Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the government said.

"Ten members of the army unfortunately lost their lives in the line of duty," Defense Secretary Luis Cresencio Sandoval told reporters, adding that 19 "criminals" were also killed in Thursday's operation.
