More than 150 “unexpected deaths” in emergencies in France: is this number reliable?

Since the beginning of December, the Samu-Emergencies union in France has been counting the number of "unexpected deaths" in the emergency services.


These are “unexpected deaths”, either because these people died in the emergency room after waiting too long, or because they simply could not be taken care of there for lack of means.

The Samu-Urgences de France (SUDF) union has been counting it since the beginning of December.

In one month, 32 people were counted, according to a statement updated daily and published on the union's website.

In all of France, there would be more than 150, according to an extrapolation made by the union.
