New WhatsApp function: Planned symbol should cause confusion

WhatsApp keeps surprising its users with new features.
In a new update, a small symbol should play a major role.
Munich - Millions of people use WhatsApp every day.
Chatting, telephoning, video calls: a lot is possible, it is not for nothing that the app is constantly evolving.
Users will soon be able to write messages to themselves.
The Messenger service introduces the “Message Yourself” feature.
However, it doesn't stop there.
As the blog

reports, the next new WhatsApp function is already in the starting blocks.
New WhatsApp function: What is behind the inconspicuous symbol?
The new WhatsApp symbol should appear small and inconspicuous to the left of the time of a sent message.
In the photos published by
Wabetainfo
, the icon resembles a bookmark.
However, the function could confuse some users a little.
Finally, it is now possible for WhatsApp users to activate the automatic deletion of content.
With the bookmark icon, however, messages could now be marked in the future, which are nevertheless retained for everyone in the chat.
The concrete benefit is therefore to identify saved messages with the symbol.
According to
Wabetainfo
, however, all chat members should be able to delete messages marked with the new symbol.
Bookmark symbol on WhatsApp: when can users use it?
The new feature of WhatsApp is still in development.
It will only be available to users when the app is updated in the future.
Exactly when that is, however, remains unclear for the time being.

Users will have to be patient for a while before the new function can be used.
In 2022, the company probably also toyed with the idea of only offering some functions for a fee.
