At Stuttgart Airport, customs arrested a man who apparently wanted to smuggle more than half a kilogram of cocaine in his stomach.
The traveler coming from Portugal was asked to be checked shortly before the turn of the year when leaving the baggage claim hall, said the main customs office in the state capital.
When asked, he stated that he had abdominal pain.
The investigators assume that the man transported drugs as a so-called body packer.
The traveler was then taken to a hospital, where he excreted 51 packets of cocaine with a total weight of more than 500 grams.
The drugs were confiscated and the man was taken into custody.
The Stuttgart customs investigation began investigations into the background of the smuggling case.
