Such a family

Dr. Amir Laor, a specialist in pediatrics at Moheded, is raising the next generation of medicine. His two children are studying medicine as part of the IDF Reserve: Yuli (20) in her third year of studies and Guy (18) in his first year, both studying at Hadassah Ein Kerem.

"Yuli and Guy absorbed the world of medicine from a young age, and there is no doubt that medicine is the language spoken at home. When they were little, I had a clinic at home, so they saw the gratitude of the patients towards me and my great satisfaction with the profession."

This issue and other issues will be discussed at the "Doctors Today" conference with the participation of the Ministers of Health and Aliyah on January 11,

Dr. Laor understands the reasons why many of his colleagues in the profession prefer their children to follow other paths, but he is still sure that medicine is the most interesting profession in the world, and is happy that his children have chosen to follow his path.

The medical profession is very hard and abrasive, but very few doctors entered this world for the money.

You have to come out of true love for the field."

Yuli Laor: "My affinity for medicine started at a young age. Seeing my father and hearing the stories about his work in the community, it made me want to be interested and engage in it. When I got to high school I was 'obsessed' with studying medicine, and the more I progress in my studies, the more I want it I have a lot of support from my parents, I turn to my father a lot with questions."

Guy Laor: "I was exposed to the field from home, from a very young age. It's a topic that attracted and interested me. In the last two years, I've also seen my sister go through this process. I'm aware of the difficulties along the way, I see my father still attentive to every patient, and talking with patients late at night, when most people You don't work in them. Not many professions have that. Despite everything, I see myself in this field."
