For bills and rents, a quarter of household spending

Between rents, bills and various repairs, European families in 2021 spent a quarter of their budget on the house: on average 25%. A high impact on portfolios but still down by 0.5% compared to the previous year. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, 08 JAN - Between rents, bills and various repairs, European families in 2021 spent a quarter of their budget on the house: on average 25%.

A high incidence on portfolios but still down by 0.5% compared to the previous year.

Italy - according to the latest Eurostat updates - is in line with the average, indeed slightly below with 24.3%.


    Among the Europeans, food and travel expenses follow.


   Lastly, spending on education.

And while slightly less is spent on the house, transport and entertainment expenses are increasing, benefiting throughout the Old Continent from the easing of measures against the pandemic.


    In 2021, - explains the European statistical institute - "Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels" represented a quarter (25%) of EU household spending, down by 0.5 percentage points compared to 2020"
