Heroes in the air:
A plane crew averted a disaster thanks to a quick response, after one of the passengers' laptop caught fire during the flight.
A video that documented the incident shows the panic that gripped the passengers, who made their way from Los Angeles International Airport to Frankfurt, Germany.
In the video, one of the flight attendants is seen putting out the fire with a fire extinguisher, while the terrified passengers watch what is happening.
The incident happened on Lufthansa flight LH457 and in the video you can clearly see the smoke that begins to fill the passenger compartment, while some of the passengers are heard shouting in the background.
The Mirror reports that two aircrew were treated for smoke inhalation after the plane was eventually forced to land at Chicago Airport.
Although initial reports indicated that it was an emergency landing, the spokesman for the German airline Lufthansa said that the pilots decided to change the route as a "precautionary measure", and this after the fire was extinguished.

"The waiters are only there to serve your food and drinks"
"A Lufthansa Boeing 747-8 en route from Los Angeles to Frankfurt, Germany, was forced to land in Chicago after a laptop caught fire in the overhead storage compartment last Monday," the airline said.
"In a video posted by a passenger, the cabin crew can be seen following firefighting practice to prevent the fire from spreading. For those who think the flight attendants are only there to serve your food and drinks, please bookmark this video to remember to respect the crew's safety instructions. They are intended To keep you safe and alive during your stay in heaven."
The airline even emphasized that the safety of that flight "was not compromised" and noted that they are helping passengers rebook their flights.
The statement also stated that it was a "small fire in the passenger cabin caused by a passenger's laptop, which overheated. The small fire was extinguished during the flight before the safe landing. The safety of the flight was not compromised at any point. None of the passengers were injured. Both crew members were treated on the spot due to smoke inhalation. Lufthansa regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers. The safety of passengers and crew is a top priority at all times," the airline said in a statement.
