A plane crew averted a disaster thanks to a quick response, after one of the passengers' laptop caught fire during the flight.
A video that documented the incident shows the panic that gripped the passengers, who made their way from Los Angeles International Airport to Frankfurt, Germany.
In the video, one of the flight attendants is seen putting out the fire with a fire extinguisher, while the terrified passengers watch what is happening.
The incident happened on Lufthansa flight LH457 and in the video you can clearly see the smoke that begins to fill the passenger compartment, while some of the passengers are heard shouting in the background.
The Mirror reports that two aircrew were treated for smoke inhalation after the plane was eventually forced to land at Chicago Airport.
Although initial reports indicated that it was an emergency landing, the spokesman for the German airline Lufthansa said that the pilots decided to change the route as a "precautionary measure", and this after the fire was extinguished.
