(ANSA) - NUORO, 09 JAN - Tragedy this morning in San Teodoro, on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia: a 20-year-old boy was found dead after drowning in a well in the countryside in Lutturai.
The most probable hypothesis is that the young man leaned into the cavity about five meters deep and with three meters of water to save his dog, which was also found dead inside the well, and therefore fell inside and was no longer able to resurface.
The firefighters of the provincial command of Nuoro and the detachment of San Teodoro are still at work to recover the body, awaiting the arrival of the magistrate on duty from the Nuoro prosecutor's office.
It was the mother who raised the alarm of the failure to return home of her son who had disappeared into thin air since yesterday evening, who then led the carabinieri of the Compagnia di Siniscola into the countryside where the son usually went in the company of his dog.
The coroner is also arriving in San Teodoro for an initial examination of the victim's body.
