(ANSA) - ROME, 09 JAN - The agreement for the sale of the Lukoil refinery in Priolo to Goi Energy has been signed.
Goi Energy communicates it in a note announcing that it has reached an agreement with Litasco, 100% controlled by Lukoil, for the acquisition of the Isab plant.
"The operation is subject to the occurrence of certain conditions precedent relating - informs the note - among other things, to the obtaining of authorizations from all the competent authorities, including the Italian Government. The closing of the operation is expected by the end of March 2023".
Goi Energy is the energy arm of Argus, a leading private equity and asset management fund in Cyprus.
Goi Energy Chief Executive Officer Michael Bobrov is also the Chief Executive Officer and majority shareholder of Green OilEnergy, which in turn is the majority shareholder of BazanGroup, one of the largest and most complex energy groups in Israel, which operates the largest integrated refining and petrochemical plant in the country.
Goi Energy explains that it has "agreed to long-term exclusive supply and offtake agreements with Trafigura, one of the world's largest independent oil and petroleum products traders. The agreements will ensure a secure supply of oil to the refinery and a guaranteed supply of refined products, as well as supporting the working capital requirement of the refinery".
