For many employees in Germany, the inflation premium is trickling into their accounts these days, but this varies greatly from employer to employer.

We show how much there is at Audi, Kaufland, Lidl, Würth and Co.

Christmas is the time for the extra portion of salary on the account.

At least if you can expect a contractually agreed Christmas bonus.

This year, numerous employees in Baden-Württemberg will again benefit from this.

An overview shows how much Porsche, Kärcher, Lidl and Co. pay.

The extra payment is really full when your own company also packs the state-approved inflation premium of up to 3000 euros tax-free on top.

But how much inflation premium will employers like Lidl, Kaufland, Audi or Würth pay in 2022?

After all, companies can split the bonus up to the end of 2024 as they wish.

Especially since some employers will certainly go away empty-handed, since there has long been no entitlement to payment.

Who is entitled at all is regulated relatively clearly.

However, it cannot be ruled out that the inflation premium will also have a detrimental effect on employees.

4000 euros inflation bonus at Würth – Lidl and Kaufland employees get significantly less

The differences among some of the largest employers in Germany are sometimes serious when it comes to inflation premiums.

One of the front runners is clearly the screw company Würth from Künzelsau.

This year there is a whopping 4000 euros.

So even 1000 euros on top of that from company boss Reinhold Würth.

Significantly less inflation premium ends up in the accounts of the employees of Dieter Schwarz, the founder of Lidl and Kaufland.

In round one of the payout, there is “only” 250 euros.

Meanwhile, the Audi car group is paying out 1,500 euros, before a year later there is another 1,500 euros.

Inflation premium at BMW, Mercedes and VW - that's how much the car manufacturers pay

The employees at BMW have two reasons to be happy.

First they received an extraordinarily high profit share, then the news about the inflation premium followed.

Because BMW will already pay the first half of the bonus of 1,500 euros to the employees in January 2023.

The second half will then follow until February 2024. Around 70,000 employees will benefit from the bonus.

The only condition: You must have been working for BMW for more than six months.

And the trainees don't go away empty-handed either.

You will receive a payment of 550 euros.

Similar to BMW, the VW employees also receive the 3,000 euro bonus divided into two payments.

125,000 VW employees can look forward to this.

Mercedes bonus could increase significantly

Employees at Mercedes can also look forward to the bonus at the beginning of the year.

But the 3,000 euros inflation adjustment is not enough.

In addition, Mercedes employees receive a profit-sharing bonus every year.

Participation is currently limited to EUR 6,450 per person.

Due to the successful year for Mercedes, however, the head of the works council, Ergun Lümali, is calling for this limit to be raised.

The bonus for employees at Mercedes could possibly be in the five-digit range this year due to the inflation adjustment.
