In the motorcycle category, the Argentine Luciano Benavides (Husqvarna) snatched victory in the ninth stage of the Dakar, the second of this 45th edition.
The youngest of the Benavides brothers, 27 years old, crossed the finish line after 358 km of special (the timed part of the stage) with a 1'2" advantage over the Australian Toby Price (KTM) and 2'57" over the American Skyler Howes (Husqvarna).
Howes therefore remains at the top of the provisional general classification for the fifth consecutive day but Price, who was 13" behind this morning, got closer and is now only 3" behind.
Kevin Benavides and his KTM are third (at 5'9 ") and the French Adrien Van Beveren (Honda), who was only 2'49" from the leader at the start, now finds himself at 15'40 ", after a "
