In Ireland, from January 10 to 15, 2023, the Dublin Bowie Festival presents many cultural events to commemorate the career of the artist with 140 million records sold.
Gerry Leonard, Bowie's musical director and co-writer, will present a show that pays tribute to Bowie's work as a songwriter, including "
special guest vocalists, a question-and-answer session"
.
The festival will host an exhibition of photographs
“as well as an audiovisual projection including a few rare interviews”
of the rock star, taken by the French photographer Philippe Auclair.
Finally, Australian musician and writer Leah Kardos will present her book
Blackstar Theory
, an essay on the words, images and music of the singer's latest album.

Blackstar
was published by David Bowie two days before his death, to everyone's surprise.
This album, which sounded like his real comeback after ten years of silence, is filled with references to his glorious career.
For the first time, Bowie found himself at the top of the American Billboard ranking, with nearly 181,000 albums sold, just one week after his death.
For Tony Visconti, producer and longtime friend of the singer,
Blackstar
was a
"parting gift"
.
In a Facebook post published on January 11, 2016, he added:
"His death is no different from his life"
, it is
"a work of art"
.
A month later, on February 22, Iggy Pop paid tribute to the rock icon by performing two of his songs during a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York.
The Parlophone label has launched a chronological reissue of its albums.
After

, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in June, and
Divine Symmetry
, whose reissue was released in November, it's
Aladdin Sane
which will celebrate its golden jubilee on April 13.
For the occasion, the album will be offered in a limited vinyl edition.
The remastered 33-rpm is available in classic version and picture vinyl.
