(ANSA) - SASSARI, 10 JAN - "Alfredo Cospito intends to continue the hunger strike to the extreme".
Thus the National Guarantor of persons deprived of their freedom, Mauro Palma, on leaving Sassari prison after meeting the anarchist detained under the 41bis regime, on hunger strike for 86 days.
"From a strictly health point of view, I found his conditions reassuring, he is a person who, despite having lost many kilos with this weight loss which may cause him some problems later on, is currently well monitored by health care and has overall satisfactory conditions, but his willingness to continue with the hunger strike to the extreme consequences is widely worrying. This situation - Palma continued - must take a step forward. Cospito must understand that this battle must be carried forward by other means, above all with methods that are not harmful to his health".
