After the animated comedy Inside Job had long since been renewed for a second season, the streaming service pulled the plug after the fact.

Netflix, whose cheaper subscription with advertising has not been very popular so far, actually ordered a second season of its conspiracy cartoon comedy “Inside Job” in June last year.

This extension has now apparently been withdrawn, as series creator Shion Takeuchi ("Gravity Falls", "The Regular Show", Disenchantment) confirmed on her social media channel:

"I'm sorry folks, it's true.

It breaks my heart to confirm that Netflix has decided to cancel the second season of 'Inside Job'.

Over the years, these characters have become real people to me, and it's killing me not to be able to watch them grow.

Reagan and Brett deserve their end and finally find happiness.

I would have loved to show you what lies ahead.

Thanks to everyone who watched and was there.

Even if it's sad, it helps to know that there are people for whom these characters were as important as I am.
