An Italian tourist died in an accident on the Dakar 2023 rally track. The organization announced it.
The Italian tourist was run over during the ninth stage of the Dakar rally between Riyadh and Harad, Saudi Arabia, organizers said.
"An Italian-born spectator who was behind a dune was injured on the rally track," Amaury Sport Organization said in a press release.
Evacuated by helicopter, the compatriot died during the transfer to the hospital.
