(ANSA) - BEIJING, JAN 10 - Japan has formally protested against China for stopping visas for Japanese citizens in response to increased health checks for passengers from the Dragon, grappling with an unprecedented wave of Covid-19 infections.
This was reported by Kyodo after the officialization of the countermeasure posted on the website of the Chinese embassy in Tokyo.
The reopening of the Chinese borders from January 8 had prompted Japan and other countries, including Italy, to strengthen checks on arrivals from China with a negative Covid test before departure, a procedure requested by Beijing of incoming travellers.
