This was announced by the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, on Nelle Storie on Rai3.

Sangiuliano also explained that "experts are restoring these finds" and that "digging will resume in May and we will probably find more".

The museum is a public service and, like the Rai and the hospitals must remain open. We will equip ourselves so that a special indemnity is recognized, but I cannot accept that a Chinese or American tourist who invests 20,000 dollars may not find these museums open".
"We have 5 million works, but we only exhibit 480,000 - he continued -. It is unthinkable to exhibit them all, but an effort to increase our offer must be made. Net of the pandemic, in the coming years we will see an increase in the global flow of tourism, we must equip ourselves to receive this flow".
"I want to resume the agreement made by my predecessors to make those who come to the Pantheon pay a small ticket of 2 euros - Sangiuliano also reiterated. The resources must remain there for the care of the property and the square".
