Well-known streamers are increasingly victims of cyber attacks.

The most successful content creators have millions of followers, but that also has its downsides.

Because well-known YouTubers in Germany are hacked again and again.

Most recently, two of the largest German-speaking channels on the platform were hit: HandOfBlood and JP Performance.

YouTuber attacked by hackers: who is behind it?

Cyber ​​criminals are actually targeting the viewers:

although it is the creators' channels that are hacked, the subscribers to the channels are also at risk.

The hacker's scam is to trick viewers into trading cryptocurrencies.

To do this, after taking over the YouTube channels, they run fake live streams with Elon Musk.

Although the majority of viewers will see through the scam, with over 2 million subscribers, there is a high probability that someone will fall for it.

For this reason, successful YouTubers with many followers are targeted by cybercriminals.

It is not yet clear who is behind the hack attacks.

Now in the new year, HandOfBlood and JP Performance have been hacked on YouTube.

The channels also featured the fraudulent Elon Musk streams.

But meanwhile the accounts are online again in the normal state.

Cyber ​​attacks on YouTubers: The cases are increasing

Several YouTubers were hacked in 2022:

HandOfBlood and JP Performance are just two of the youngest victims of such cyber attacks.

In the last year, hackers had already struck at other well-known YouTubers, including Julien Bam or Tanzverbot.

Since the cybercriminals have not yet been put down - if that is possible at all - viewers have to be careful.

If the YouTube channel suddenly shows questionable and inappropriate content, alarm bells should ring.
