The mobile phone provider Telefónica with its brands O2 or Blau increases the tariffs for new customers.
The reactions on the Internet are divided due to the network coverage.
Munich – The mobile phone provider Telefónica Deutschland with its brands O2 and Blau has caused mixed reactions on the Internet with its announcement that mobile phone tariffs for new customers will be up to 10 percent more expensive.
Customers are not exactly happy, mainly due to the fact that network coverage is often still insufficient from the consumer's point of view.

The mobile operator had announced at the beginning of the week that due to the high inflation, they would now have to start raising prices in the mobile communications sector at O2 and Blau.
Up until now, the German mobile communications market had been almost completely spared from inflation.
Other mobile operators will probably follow the example of Telefónica (O2 and Blau) in the coming days, weeks and months.
The discounts for landline Internet tariffs are also to be reduced.
From the point of view of many customers, Blau and O2 have poor network coverage in many areas in Germany, which in their view does not justify a price increase.
Although the company has done a lot in recent years to improve network coverage in Germany for O2 or blue customers, this still leaves a lot to be desired in some parts of the republic.

For example, Twitter user Benjamin writes: "I'm currently satisfied with the price-performance ratio, but the network isn't as advanced as the others by a long shot." On the other hand, he certifies the availability of LTE or 5G to Telefónica Deutschland with its brands O2 and Blau, on the other hand, are a better offer, although this is often very bad in some places due to the speed.

Another Instagram user shows more understanding for the new pricing for new customers at O2 and Blau.
User
andreas_um.szc writes: "I think it's good that it is clearly communicated by management, also here in social media.
But if you tell the truth, you quickly make yourself unpopular.
That's the way it is and you have to endure it.
Basically, I think that @o2cando @telefonica_de will continue to offer good value for money even after price adjustments.”

For the time being, however, prices should only increase for new customers, as Telefónica Deutschland boss Markus Haas confirmed to the

.
The higher prices are to be implemented from spring 2023. First of all, Telefónica wants to adjust the prepaid tariffs of O2 and Blau, existing customers should initially be spared.
