Jennifer Coolidge moved in more ways than one at the 80th Golden Globes ceremony held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 10.
The 61-year-old comedian won Best Supporting Actress for her iconic portrayal of Tanya McQuoid on the hit HBO series

With her usual eccentricity, Coolidge made a point of thanking in her speech Ryan Murphy who, according to her, was one of the people who allowed her to stay in the film industry: "There were like five people who held on for, you know, twenty years with these odd jobs and Ryan Murphy, you were one of them, it was those odd jobs that kept me going,” she said.

After thanking her agents, she then expressed her gratitude to the creator of
The White Lotus
, Mike White who “gave her hope”, even to make him cry: “You gave me a new start.
Even if it's the end, because you killed me, but it doesn't matter.
Even though this is the end, you have changed my life in a million different ways,” she told the crowd, referring to her character's fate on the show.
"My neighbors are talking to me now, (...), I've never been invited to a single party on my hill, and now everyone invites me," triggering laughter from the audience.
Coolidge then went on to sing the author's praises: "If you don't know Mike White - this is what you should know: he worries about the world, he worries about people, he worried about his friends who aren't well, he's always worried about people, you're worried about animals, and he's truly one of the most wonderful people I've ever met," he said. - she said in a burst of sincerity and emotion.
Toward the end of her tribute, she concluded, "I just wanna say, Mike White...I love you to death!", prompting a round of applause and a standing ovation from the audience.
