(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 11 - "An action is needed to relaunch" the world of catering "to allow it to fully assume the role of driving force for the entire Italian agri-food sector, being an integral part of the supply chain and constituting the point of contact with the final consumer".
This is the summary of the meeting that took place between the Ambassadors of Taste (an association created to enhance and strengthen the Made in Italy food and wine culture) and the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida.
"Catering - say Alessandro Gilmozzi, president of Ambasciatori del Gusto and Carlo Cracco (associate-founder) - must not be forgotten, it is an image of doing Italian business, it is an opportunity for growth for future generations of professionals, it is the essential tool for enhancing and defending the quality and interests of Made in Italy. Labor reform, dedicated tax area, Catering Fund but also No Show, Cashless and an institutional office dedicated to sector and supply chain policies" are the necessary actions which, claims Ambasciatori del Gusto " will have to address transversal issues.
The regulatory context that characterizes the market is characterized - underlines the association - by limitations and procedural procedures that have a particularly impact on the business of companies.
The fundamental issue is therefore the labor reform, a concrete revision of the National Collective Labor Agreement is needed, also prefiguring a new dedicated area, precisely because this sector does not respond to the market logics to which it is compared today, for example generic commercial establishments".
The association, among various requests made, also requests to outline "specifically and precisely what is catering and what is not, what - conclude the Ambassadors of Taste - can also be achieved through the creation of a business register, with clear and shared rules, in order to represent an incubator of reforms for the revitalization of the sector".
