Bank of Italy: rates on new mortgages rise to 3.55% in November

Rates on new mortgages granted by banks to households are still growing.

As can be read in the statistics of the Bank of Italy, interest rates including ancillary costs (Annual Effective Global Rate, Taeg) have grown to 3.55% against 3.23 in October.

The rates on new consumer credit disbursements rose to 9.25 per cent (8.93 in the previous month).

Interest rates on new loans to non-financial corporations were 2.94 per cent (2.54 in the previous month).

The growth of bank loans to households and businesses slows down

According to Bank of Italy statistics, in November loans to households increased by 3.8 per cent over twelve months (4.0 in the previous month) and those to non-financial companies by 2.8 (against 3.1 per cent hundred in the previous month).

Private sector deposits decreased by 0.3 per cent over twelve months (-0.2 in October);

bond funding decreased by 3.2 per cent on the same period of the previous year (-6.0 in October).

Again in November,

bank non-performing loans were stable

According to the tables of the Bank of Italy, they amounted to a total of 34 billion euros, the same level as the previous month, while the net ones fell from 16.6 to 16.2 billion.
