Europe remembers
David Sassoli
, the president of the EU Parliament who died on 11 January 2022 at the age of 56.
A commemoration kicks off in the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels at 12 with a speech by Roberta Metsola, who succeeded Sassoli as president.
Also in Brussels, a commemorative service will be held at 7pm.
"In the name of Sassoli, never before must we put democracy and integrity at the center of our action" and "this year we
will strengthen the integrity, independence and accountability of the Eurochamber",
