US director Steven Spielberg has been awarded the Golden Globe for
best drama
for his autobiographical film »The Fabelmans« .
The 76-year-old Hollywood legend was honored with the award at a gala in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening (local time).

In the category
For Best Drama, »The Fabelmans« beat James Cameron's »Avatar: The Way of Water«, »Elvis«, »Tár« and »Top Gun: Maverick«.
The Golden Globe for
Best Comedy
went to The Banshees of Inisherin, a film about two friends on a remote Irish island.
Irishman Colin Farrell won Best Male Actor in a Comedy
for his performance in the film
.
The following films were also nominated for best comedy/musical: Babylon, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Triangle of Sadness.
The Golden Globe for
best actor in a drama
went to the US actor Austin Butler: He embodies the rock 'n' roll legend in »Elvis«.
Actress Cate Blanchett won the
Best Actress in a Drama
award for »Tár«.
In it she plays a fictional conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic.
The Golden Globe for
Best Actress in a Comedy
went to Michelle Yeoh for her role in Everything Everyone All at Once, a sci-fi film about parallel universes.
The Association of Foreign Press (HFPA) announced the winners in 27 film and television categories on Wednesday night in Beverly Hills.
The 80th Globe award was broadcast live by US broadcaster NBC.
Last year, NBC canceled the traditional TV broadcast.
The reason for this was, among other things, massive criticism of the association for a lack of diversity.
As part of a restructuring, the pool of Globe jurors has now become larger and more diverse.
The winners in the TV categories
In the Golden Globes TV categories, the big winner is Abbott Elementary.
The series about a Philadelphia elementary school won three awards:
Best Comedy

Lead Quinta Brunson, and Tyler James Williams,
Best Comedy Supporting Actor
.
Brunson is also the creator and producer of the series.
Best Comedy Actor
was Jeremy Allen White as a young chef in »The Bear«.
The »Game of Thrones« offshoot »House of the Dragon« received the
award for
best drama series.
Zendaya won Best Actress in a Drama Series
for the youth series »Euphoria«
.
Kevin Costner won
best actor
for his role in the neo-western Yellowstone.
The best miniseries/television film
was »White Lotus«, a bitter satire on spoiled super-rich people on luxury vacations.
Supporting actress
Jennifer Coolidge also won a Globe for it.
Evan Peters won
Best Actor in a Miniseries
for Dahmer.
Amanda Seyfried won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Miniseries
for The Dropout

Paul Walter Hauser won
Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries for Black Bird.
