The Immensita
- What to see
Drama by Emanuele Crialese, 1h37
In 1970s Rome, Clara raises her three children with the courage of a little soldier.
The eldest daughter is a tomboy.
It was said like that, at the time.
At 12, Adriana prefers to be called Andrea.
The ill-fated teenager in a skin that is not her own thinks she comes from another galaxy.
Growing up is never easy.
We are witnessing a series of fair and rapid sketches.
There is seriousness, a hint of anger, a diffuse disenchantment.
Penélope Cruz is in a state of grace.
In her Fiorucci dresses, she is petite, toned, sulky, wild.
She has the rage of Anna Magnani, the smile of Sophia Loren, the humor of Monica Vitti.
It's as if she sent all Almodovar flying.
The change of scenery succeeded him.
She deserves all the awards.
May Emanuele Crialese be thanked here.
is a film that sings.
This is a sad song.

The Flight
- To see
Drama by Pietro Marcello, 1h40
Flight
is located in the north of France, in Picardy.
It opens with archives of Armistice Day in the Bay of Somme.
These images alternate with Joseph's return to his village.
A soldier who survived the First World War, he was not welcomed as a hero.
He learns that his wife froze to death after a rape.
The criminal, Fernand, lives free and carefree.
Joseph also discovers that he is the father of a daughter, Juliette, taken in by Adeline (Noémie Lvovsky), a farmer with a big heart.
Accused of being a witch by the villagers, she lives apart, with a blacksmith and his family, also marginal and despised by the good people.
At the heart of a story that cannot be reduced to a feminist manifesto or an anti-patriarchy charge lies the relationship between a father and his daughter.
A great filial love story.
A beautiful tribute also from Pietro Marcello, craftsman of the cinema, to his cabinetmaker father.
