Knife attack at the Gare du Nord in Paris

According to media reports, a man injured several people in a knife attack at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris on Wednesday morning.
The attacker was put out of action by security forces, the broadcaster BFMTV reported, citing police sources.
The area was cordoned off, and train traffic was partially disrupted.
According to BFMTV, police said the incident happened around 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
There are said to have been a total of six injuries.

Nothing was known about the murder weapon or possible motives of the man.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin praised the determination of the emergency services on Twitter, who acted "efficiently and courageously".
The perpetrator was “quickly neutralized”.
According to unconfirmed reports from the French media, the attacker suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds to the chest and arm.
Darmanin wanted to go to the scene of the crime immediately.
The Thalys trains from Germany, among others, arrive at the Gare du Nord in Paris.
As early as February, French police officers shot at a man at Paris' North train station who is said to have threatened them with a knife.
A French journalist filmed part of the incident and posted a video of it on Twitter.
