The "cakes for a terrorist" affair: the mediation between the doctor and the Hadassah management exploded Israel today

Dr. Mhanga's attorney sent a letter to the Jerusalem hospital officials • The reconciliation efforts ran aground • The draft compromise agreement revealed in "Israel Hayom" stated that he will return to his job - and the time of his suspension will even be considered part of his internship period • "Physicians for Human Rights": "System Health infected with racism"

Mediation efforts between the management of Hadassah and Dr. Mahajana came to naught. This, following the exposure of "Israel Hayom" in which the draft of the settlement agreement was published.

According to the published document, Hadassah will return the doctor to work and consider his time of absence as part of the internship period. The announcement of the failure of efforts The mediation was accepted through a letter sent this morning by Dr. Mahajana's attorney, Adv. Ofer Doron, to the management of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

The association "Doctors for Human Rights" responded to the incident.

"The responsibility of the Hadassah management for the failure is clear. Although in the published draft it retracted some of its accusations against Dr. Mahajana, it insisted on continuing to fortify its positions, with the hospital's demand that Dr. Mahajana apologize to the policeman at the forefront," the association said.

"Act in good faith."

"This demand revealed that the hospital continues to maintain its view that the policeman's demand that the doctor identify himself to him and the policeman's conduct as a sovereign in the hospital are acceptable in his eyes," they added in "Doctors for Human Rights".

"Hadassa insists that she acted 'in this case in good faith' - when her actions demonstrate that this statement has no basis: the hospital condemned Oud before hearing his words, tarnished his name and sent him on forced leave."

"During all those long weeks, dozens of parties contacted the management and the Hadassah Women organization, but the hospital did not respond to these requests," reads the association's response.

"Now, when the mediation efforts have failed, the case will most likely come before the court. An event that never happened, allegations that Hadassah herself backed away from, seriously hurt the doctor, his patients and the students he supervised."

The association intends to continue fighting for the doctor's innocence.

"Dr. Mahajana's story is not only his own story, it is the story of a health care system severely infected with racism, for which a doctor's identity as a Palestinian is enough to deprive him of its support.

This stain, Hadassah in particular and the health system in Israel will be difficult to remove."
