Potatoes in the oven with a secret ingredient (Oxo - Roast Potatoes)
A leading chef has revealed his secret ingredient for cooking potatoes in the oven which, he says, helps to increase the flavor and upgrade the entire dish.
We recently shared with you here a number of worthwhile tips for making potatoes in the oven - such as that of King Charles III and the successful chef Dan Kluger.
This time it's chef Richard Bainbridge who shares his tip - and it only requires one rather surprising ingredient.
The chef who won the Great British Menu cooking show and is now the owner of the Benedicts restaurant in Norwich, Richard Bainbridge, revealed in a conversation with The Mirror his tip - which he claims will also work well on your chicken satay.

So what does the award-winning chef do to upgrade the taste of his potatoes?
It's pretty simple.
Every Christmas he always makes sure to sprinkle a concentrated cube of crushed chicken stock over his potatoes and chicken before putting them in the oven because he claims it adds a unique and refreshing flavor.
He uses an OXO cube but any other soup stock cube will work.

This tip is not just his and there are countless recipes around the web that use this "secret" in combination with other spices... like this, for example, Hannah O'Connor drove the amateur cooks crazy on Facebook after she posted a photo of her crispy, golden potatoes online.
The home cook said that she also uses a modest OXO cube.
"Put the potatoes in a pot of water and boil them for 3 minutes," she revealed her method, "then strain through a sieve and let them rise. Add a large pinch of flour, salt and pepper, then crumble over the beef stock cube and mix again. After adding the seasoning - Including the stock cube - Hanna said to heat some olive oil in the oven. "Put the potatoes in and make sure they're all covered in oil," she continued. "Turn every 20 minutes or so until they're done."
The end result is a delicious, salty crust with a deep flavor for the roasted potato.
