The Ministry asked its directorates in the governorates to take a set of preventive measures in primary and secondary schools, institutes and kindergartens, in order to raise the health level in schools and limit the spread of epidemic and infectious diseases.
The procedures circulated by the Ministry to its directorates, of which SANA received a copy today, emphasized the necessity of connecting drinking water networks to all schools, along with cleaning and sterilizing water tanks with chlorine once a month, in addition to checking the validity and maintenance of school toilets, and ensuring the safety of sanitation in schools permanently.
She also stressed the importance of adhering to the standards for school canteens and stressing the regular examination of workers through the School Health Department, in addition to preventing street vendors from being near institutes, schools and kindergartens affiliated with the Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
The Ministry pointed out the need to monitor and inform about disease cases such as (acute cases of diarrhea, acute flaccid paralysis, septic hepatitis, measles, leishmaniasis, corona and acute respiratory infections) and other communicable diseases among pupils, students, and the educational and administrative system, focusing on the importance of carrying out health awareness by workers in the Health Department. The Ministry emphasized adherence to the necessary measures to prevent the spread of infection with regard to some infectious diseases (measles, chicken pox, mumps, rubella, whooping cough, septic hepatitis and meningitis).
