To protest against this exclusion, a fan club called The Redheads mobilized about fifteen people, who traveled from Montreal to New York, a journey of more than six hours.

In the preamble to its article, the newspaper nevertheless specifies: “This new list has been compiled by our staff and our main contributors, and it encompasses 100 years of pop music as an ongoing global conversation”.
The magazine also clarified to its readers, "Before you start scrolling (and commenting), keep in mind that this is the list of the greatest singers, not the list of the greatest voices." .

would not comment on the protest.
