Thus Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in a hearing at the joint Foreign Affairs commissions of the Chamber and Senate recalling that he had brought Italy's protest when he met the Iranian ambassador-designate in Rome on 28 December.
"What is happening in Iran is unacceptable", repeated the minister, commenting on today's remarks by the Iranian ambassador.
"Italy continues to ask for the immediate cessation of repression and the immediate moratorium on the death penalty," he added.
