An onion tea stinks aphids quite a bit.
The simple home remedy is self-made in no time and is a good alternative to the chemical club.
They are black, red or green, but in any case extremely undesirable: aphids are found on houseplants and garden plants alike.
They not only damage them directly until they can die, they also quickly infect other plants.
Once spotted, you should fight them as quickly as possible.
A broth made from onions helps, the intense smell of which makes some people flee.

The first step when looking for aphids should be to collect and strip off the animals, which is best done by hand or with a strong jet of water.
In the next step, it is usually not necessary to use chemical agents; simple agents that everyone has in the kitchen often help to prevent the pests from spreading.
Whether as an interim plant in the garden bed or as a tea to spray the infested plant - onions bring along good ingredients to make life difficult for lice: Essential oils and fragrances have a deterrent effect on the insects.
According to
Mein Schönen Garten
, onion tea is made by brewing 40 grams of chopped onions in five liters of water and allowing them to steep for three hours.
Pour the liquid through a sieve and spray the aphids with it every ten days.
Instead of onions you can use garlic as well.
The following plants also contain essential oils that aphids do not like:
lavender
dill
mint
sage
Nasturtium

In the garden, many herbs, most of which have an intense smell, are well suited as bed partners to protect plants from infestation with aphids.
Onions and garlic cloves, which you peel and stick into the ground so that about half still sticks out, should also be helpful.
