Further education without sacrificing your free time - that's possible with educational leave.
Many employees are entitled to up to five days a year.
According to the
German Trade Union Confederation (DGB)
, 77 percent of employees in Germany are interested in further training.
However, the employees do not exhaust their opportunities, only one to two percent take educational leave, although they have a legal right to it.

Educational leave or, as it is called in some federal states, "educational leave" or "educational time", is available in almost all federal states in Germany, only in Bavaria and Saxony there is no legal entitlement to educational leave.
For educational leave, the employer must give you paid leave for further training, the
DGB
informs .
No vacation leave may be canceled in return.
Likewise, the content of the further training does not necessarily have to be related to the professional activity.
Each employee is entitled to five days of educational leave per year.
