(ANSA) - BRASILIA, 13 JAN - The Brazilian government has announced that next week it will ask the United States for the extradition of Anderson Torres, Jair Bolsonaro's former justice minister.
"Mr. Anderson Torres announced that he would appear but that did not happen and since there is an arrest warrant we will wait until Monday and then ask for his extradition," Justice Minister Flavio Dino said today.
Torres was appointed public security secretary of Brasilia in December and is accused of omission in the assault on the buildings of power in Brasilia by radical supporters of Bolsonaro.
