Covid-19: how to explain the record of daily deaths in Japan?

Nearly 400 Covid-diagnosed patients die every day in the Land of the Rising Sun, and experts expect even higher numbers


On paper, the situation may seem paradoxical.

Japan has never recorded as many deaths of patients with Covid-19 each day as in mid-January: nearly 400, on average, over the past week, compared to less than 300 during the previous peak in early September. .

“We fear that this number will increase further”, warned on Wednesday January 11 a group of experts advising the Ministry of Health on the management of the health crisis.
