An explosion hit a gas pipeline linking Lithuania and Latvia in the north of the country.
This was reported by the Lithuanian public broadcaster Lrt, publishing images of a fire in the area and emphasizing that no victims were reported.
The explosion of the pipeline, operated by the operator Amber Grid, was reported around 17 local time in the village of Pasvalio Vienkiemiai, in the district of Pasvalys.
A police spokeswoman said the adjacent village of Valakėliai, with a population of around 250, had been evacuated.
The pipeline carries gas to the northern part of Lithuania and Latvia.
