The weekly incidence is decreasing nationwide

: 143 per 100,000 inhabitants (06/01/2022 -12/01/2023) compared to 231 per 100,000 inhabitants in the previous week.

In the period 21 December 2022-03 January 2023, the average Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was 0.91

(range 0.77-1.11), an increase compared to the previous week but still below the epidemic threshold.

The RT was 0.83 last week.

This is indicated by the weekly monitoring of the ISS-Ministry of Health on the progress of Covid in Italy. 

The employment rate in the intensive care unit is down slightly to 3.1%

(daily survey by the Ministry of Health on 12 January) compared to 3.2% in the previous week.

The employment rate in medical areas nationwide fell to 10.1%

(daily survey by the Ministry of Health on 12 January) compared to 12.1% seven days earlier.

No Region and autonomous province is classified as high risk due to the evolution of Covid cases

.

Seven are instead classified as moderate risk

and according to what ANSA has learned they are

Basilicata, Emilia Romagna, the Province of Trento, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily, Umbria

.

Fourteen of those finally classified as low risk.
