A product sold by Ikea could be dangerous for consumers.
Therefore, the Swedish furniture store initiates a recall and warns of incidents.
Hofheim-Wallau/Munich – Ikea recently had to announce a recall that could pose a risk of injury.
Just a few weeks later, the Swedish furniture giant launched another recall campaign.
This time it's about the product LETTAN: a mirror that most buyers will probably use in the bathroom and can suddenly fall off the wall due to poor attachment.
Ikea recall for mirror LETTAN - injuries and shock threaten
This is accompanied by a risk of injury for consumers, after all, broken glass and splinters can cause a lot of harm.
Not to mention possible shock from the sudden clang...
"Ikea asks all customers who have an affected LETTAN mirror with a date stamp of 2105 (YYWW) or older to stop using it and to order replacement wall fittings free of charge," reads a warning published by the group's headquarters.
In this case, 21 means the year 2021, 05 stands for the corresponding calendar week - this is the period of manufacture.

LETTAN bathroom mirror: Recall due to defective attachment
In the press release, Ikea seeks reassurance and apologizes for the problems that have arisen.
"Despite all care, there is a risk that the wall fittings of LETTAN mirrors attached to the wall could break," says the wording.
As a result, some of the models may suddenly fall to the ground.
Ikea has also announced the recall on social networks such as Facebook and Instagram – and numerous people respond by explaining that they had exactly the same problem with the mirror: it fell and broke into several pieces.
Comments:
"Three weeks ago fell down in the night and broke!
We got a real fright..."
"I fell down a while ago and damaged the vanity... I almost died because I was so scared..."
"Ours also broke 😠 and damaged the floor.
There remains one photo to remember.”
Ikea recall: customers rage about prices and quality - customer praises transparency
Many Ikea followers complain about the increased prices and decreased quality under the IKEA recall post.
One voice defends the retail giant: "That's nothing unusual given the number of products that IKEA carries.
At Amazon & Co. you just don't get it.
At least it is handled transparently here.”
