(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, JAN 12 - At least five people were killed in Autagua county, Alabama, after the passage of a series of tornadoes that are hitting the southeastern United States.

The coroner of the area, BusterBarber, told CNN.

"We are still trying to recover the bodies," said the coroner.

Meanwhile, both Alabama and Georgia have declared a state of emergency.
