(ANSA) - BOLZANO, 13 JAN - Carabinieri marshal Giovanni Andriano, 49, died in Bolzano hospital, swept away by an avalanche in Val Gardena on Tuesday.
The news was confirmed to ANSA by the Health Authority.
The instructor of the alpine training center was with two carabinieri in Val de Chedul when he was overwhelmed by an avalanche.
When he was released, under three meters of snow, his body temperature had now dropped to 25 degrees.
The emergency doctor managed to revive him on the spot.
In very serious conditions, the 49-year-old was transported to the Bolzano hospital, where he is now deceased.
