Artificial intelligence is the horror?
The film M3GAN deals with the dangers of technology in a satirical way.
Comedy and thriller go hand in hand here.
So is this a new horror icon?
Universal, Blumhouse and horror experts Jason Blum ("Get Out") and James Wan ("Conjuring", "Saw") are behind the new AI horror thriller "M3GAN".
This is a film that was able to show its meme and cult potential right from the first pictures and trailers.
Directed by Gerard Johnstone, who hasn't had much on his CV so far, and the screenplay is being provided by Akela Cooper ("Malignant", "The Nun 2", "Luke Cage", "American Horror Story").
James Wan also helped out with the story.
What is M3GAN about?
Young Cady's (Violet McGraw) parents die in a car accident that only she survives.
The traumatized girl, who previously received strict guidelines for her screen time, takes on the guardianship of her aunt Gemma (Allison Williams, "Girls", "Get Out"), with whom she had previously had little regular contact.
Gemma is a robotics expert working for the toy company Funki.
She has been working on robots and artificial intelligence since her college days.
