The Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, signed the decree which provides for a two-month halt to travel for the supporters of Naples and Rome, arranging for this period of time the closure of the away sectors of the stadiums where the two sports clubs play away meetings.
The sale of tickets for access to the same sports facilities and for the same matches was also prohibited for people residing in the provinces of Naples and Rome.
The provision comes following the episodes of violence that took place on 8 January along the A1, near Arezzo and - we learn from the Viminale - "due to the concrete danger that such behaviors could be repeated, with consequent risks of serious injury to order and public safety, after having taken note of the evaluations of the Analysis Committee for the Safety of Sporting Events".
