“Every morning, I had this frustration of going to work being compressed like a sardine, says Romeo.
I saw the notifications from the Line 8 Twitter account, and wondered if this was all really happening or not.
“ From this daily annoyance will be born the Twitter account @METROQualite, which lists all the disruptions of the Paris metros and RERs.
“The account is almost automated,” explains the 22-year-old engineer.
It works with a system of "bots", small automated software that compiles traffic info messages broadcast in real time on the RATP website.
In the end, after three months, Roméo compiled several statistics on the RATP network: line 12 was voted "worst metro line", coming first in the number of disruptions, with an average of 5h30 of disruptions per day, ahead of the lines 8, 4 and 9. However, it is difficult to know what is hidden behind this sad assessment of line 12: "the most frequent disturbance is "operational incident", a rather vague reason, because this can be a problem linked to equipment, to personnel…”, explains Romeo.
