The first fortnight of January 2023
passed
and the summer tourist movement was felt in many destinations in Argentina.
According to data collected by the
Argentine Tourism Observatory
(OAT), the first two weeks of January brought
occupancy levels between 85% and 95%
in classic places such as Mar del Plata, Villa Gesell, the Partido de la Costa, Villa Carlos Paz, San Carlos de Bariloche, the Quebrada de Humahuaca or Gualeguaychú.
The flow of travelers is also felt in the air:
Aerolíneas Argentinas
transported
more than one million passengers
, from December 15 to this weekend, with
250 daily departures.
This means mobilizing more than 33,000 passengers each day.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Nation,
Matías Lammens
, said: "We are experiencing a
great summer
, with very good occupancy levels, similar to those of the historic 2022 season. According to our projections, the movement will also be intense tourism during the second half of January and all of February in the main destinations in the country”.
He agrees on this with the president of the Argentine Chamber of Tourism (CAT), Gustavo Hani, who pointed out: "We will have a great summer season, with high levels of general occupancy, both in traditional and emerging tourist destinations."

Foreigners in destinations in Argentina
Beyond the movement of Argentines,
receptive tourism
stands out since it is estimated that more than 300,000 visitors arrived, mainly from Brazil, the United States, Uruguay and Chile.
The projection for the season is 1.7 million tourists from abroad.
"The great novelty is that, in many of these destinations, not only is the strong presence of national tourism appreciated, but also a
significant flow of arrivals of foreign tourists
is beginning to be registered, with the corresponding impact of foreign currency income that this generates" Gustavo Hani pointed out.
