The young people of the Bornes district, in Gisors (Eure), mobilized to give new life to the halls of their buildings. They did

“Before, the walls were yellow, gray, sometimes blackened or with traces, recalls Slice, a young resident of the Bornes district, in Gisors (Eure).

Now it's nothing to do, it's super clean.

I'm sure it makes the locals happier.

The young people of the neighborhood called on L'Artiste, a local graffiti artist, to repaint the ten buildings where they live.

“Someone had started tagging on a wall in my hall, we had put blue paint instead, says Slyss.

Then I had the idea to paint the rest of the wall, it went from there.

»

After a first fresco, the lessor decides to pay for the equipment to extend the initiative to the rest of the buildings.

"Some residents were jealous of not having their fresco in their building, so they asked for more to be done," says L'Artiste, who did not expect such success.

Now each building has its own identity.

The group of young people will then come up with the idea of painting a bird in each hall, with all the buildings having a different bird name.

"We got down to a dozen, everyone took part, even without necessarily knowing how to paint," recalls L'Artiste.

The inhabitants seem, in any case, delighted: “For some buildings whose hall was very dark, it must do them good, confesses Sébastien, a resident.

Before, it didn't look like much."

And Slice and L'Artiste do not intend to stop there: they have been contacted by a district of Hauts-de-Seine which would also like to repaint the halls of its buildings.
