There are all kinds of rumors about how Aldi, Rewe and their colleagues design their range.

However, a customer discovered clear harbingers of a trend on the shelves and warned: "It's starting again".

Munich - Anyone who strolls through the aisles of supermarkets or discounters is used to grocers also having seasonal offers in their range.

Whether it’s Lidl, Aldi, Kaufland or the like, the stores usually sell weekly goods, especially in the non-food segment, that consumers could currently be more interested in.

However, this foresight does not stop at the food itself - this is also the conclusion of a customer who announced via Twitter that a well-known phenomenon has reappeared.

Every year again: the food trade is already getting ready for the coming holidays

Christmas has just ended and quite a few have made it their New Year's resolution to shed excess holiday pounds.

The goods that are now filling the candy shelves of grocers are not necessarily conducive.

Much too early, according to consumers, because the markets are already selling all kinds of sweets for Easter.

The Easter holidays this year fall on April 9, 2023 and April 10, 2023.

April is still a long way off, one might think, and the chocolate bunnies are clearly premature.

The phenomenon that the season and the range of goods do not go together at all at first glance is known from the Santa Clauses and cookies that often populate the sweets shelves in summer.

"Overpriced" and "lousy": Customers are fuming - but why are the Easter bunnies already on sale?

However, the trade relies on early sales to stimulate demand, since the offer is intended to arouse anticipation among consumers for the upcoming festival.

Operational reasons are also important, since the seasonal items mutate into slow sellers after the festival and are usually sold at a significantly lower price.

This price mechanism can currently be observed: while Christmas sweets could currently fetch a maximum of cents, the Easter bunnies in the specific example are offered for a proud 4.99 euros.

"Lousy" is what a Twitter user calls the mechanism that can be seen in the photo above: "Easter comes right after Christmas and the chocolate bunnies are just as overpriced as the Santa Clauses." By the way, anyone who still has supplies from Santa Claus should call this back note.
