A Facebook user documents how several combustion engines block charging stations for e-cars.

He does not want to "denounce" the behavior, but the network is less understanding in this regard.

Stuttgart - The availability of charging points for e-cars is still a controversial issue.

Before Lidl, Kaufland and Co. abolished free charging in front of their branches, some users were upset about e-car drivers who stood at the columns for hours and thus blocked the opportunity for others.

However, even more resentment is caused when combustion models are at the charging stations, especially since they have no use at all.

Because an SUV blocked an e-charging station in Würzburg, there were calls for stricter controls.

According to BW24

, a user documented a similar scenario

in a Facebook group for e-mobility .

Combustion engines were parked in two of the four available charging stations, which he captured as a photo while his e-car was being charged.

According to his own statements, he did not want to “denounce” illegal parking with his post, but many users are upset in the comments.

In the past, stricter penalties for charging station blockers have repeatedly been demanded.

Burners block e-parking spaces: the police cannot intervene because of private property

If you are looking for a free charging point with your e-car and see that cars that are actually available are being blocked by cars that cannot be charged at the charging stations, it is of course annoying.

Apparently, the user Robert Baranovski was lucky and got hold of a free loading slot.

However, he decided to document the fact that there were also vehicles with combustion engines parked there.

"The scene of the crime was a shopping park here," he begins his report in the Facebook group.

"Two out of four charging stations were parked with combustion engines." Because he said he had a lot of time - "charging takes sooo long," he writes with a wink - he decided to ask the local police.

Because blocking a charging station is annoying but not an emergency, Robert Baranovski reportedly called the police station's landline number.

"However, the friendly lady forwarded me to the emergency call," he writes.

However, the official there apparently did not know exactly what the regulation was and explained that he had to find out more first.

"In the end I couldn't get any help.

Since it is private property, the police are not responsible.” This problem is also already known from the situations described in supermarket parking lots.

Many chains now rely on private companies to monitor compliance with the parking regulations on the site.

"I don't understand this ignorance": Netz cannot understand the misconduct of the illegal parkers

In the comments on the post in the Facebook group, the users, who are very likely to drive an electric car themselves, are angry at the documented behavior.

"I don't understand this ignorance.

The press has been talking about what a charging station looks like for years, what you need it for, why a petrol car shouldn't/shouldn't be parked there," writes one.

"You can't live that far in the forest for the topic to have passed you by completely." Another user comments that it looks similar with other parking spaces that are actually intended for certain groups of people.

"Such sleepyheads also like to park in disabled or parent/child parking spaces." Anyone who parks illegally in such parking spaces is liable to prosecution.

The same also applies to blocking e-parking spaces.

"Due to the change in the catalog of fines ordinance on November 9, 2021, there is a uniform fine throughout Germany if you park your diesel or petrol car in an e-parking space without authorization," says the catalog of fines.

"There is a risk of a fine of 55 euros for this." However, enforcing this regulation is apparently difficult for the authorities, as the charging points are often located in private car parks.

"Even in Stuttgart on public land, the patrol that was called on site didn't have time," reports one user.

“I find such combustion engine drivers impossible!” is the conclusion of another.
