A manufacturer is recalling hiking boots because of the risk of falling and injury.
The owner can return them to the store or send them back by post.
Bolzano - The Italian outdoor manufacturer Salewa has launched a Europe-wide, voluntary recall.
This is reported by the “Product recall” portal.
These are hiking boots of the model "Alp Trainer 2 Mid GTX Hiking Boots", which were produced before April 2022.
Both the women's and the men's version of the boot are affected.

As the reason for the recall, Salewa cites a risk of falling and injury.
A danger can exist if the owner loosely or not at all laces his "Alp Trainer 2" in the ankle area.
Failure to use the eyelets or lace hooks can result in dangerous situations.

According to Salewa, it is then "unlikely, but possible, that the shoelace hook on the inside of one boot could catch on a loose steel cable on the inside of the other boot."
This can lead to tripping or even a fall.
The affected models can be identified by the article code, which can be found on a label on the inside of the tongue of the shoe.
Article code male version: 61382
Item code women's version: 61383
