Lahav Shani is being discussed as the new chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic.
His commitment would further inspire the orchestra's spirit of optimism.

Should Lahav Shani become chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic, this is perhaps the most important chapter in the story of “An Orchestra reinventing itself”.
That has a lot to do with the replacement Gasteig in Sendling.
New concert forms are tried out there, as well as appearances on social networks and on posters.
Anyone who looks into the rows will notice that the audience is getting younger.
The Philharmoniker are doing a lot right now.
This also applies to the choice of program and the engagement of guests at the podium.
If you want to experience intelligently put together concerts with the right conductors, a ticket in the HP 8 is the best choice.
Above all, the Philharmoniker could finally offer an alternative to the inner-city competition with Shani.
They suffered forever from the trauma of only being number two behind the BR Symphony Orchestra and tried to combat this with outrageously expensive superstars in the top post.
Shani would suit the orchestra's spirit of optimism - apart from the fact that an engagement in a Central European music metropolis would also suit his career quite well.
With this little coup, the Philharmoniker not only make their direct competitor look a bit old.
